A motorist escaped injury Sunday when an SUV came off the 605 Freeway in Cerritos, overturned and landed on its wheels in a grassy area near State Route 91, officials said.
The crash on the southbound 605 Freeway -- at the westbound 91 connector ramp -- was reported about 9 a.m., according to the CHP.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin, the white SUV sustained major damage.
Some 30 feet of guardrail was damaged by the SUV's going through it, Martin told Patch.
Los Angeles County fire crews were canceled en route because no one was injured, Martin told Patch in an interview.
