Find Registered Sex Offenders in Cerritos and Artesia

Help protect yourself and your family through Megan's Law -- the LASD encourages residents to use an online tool that allows you to find the registered sex offenders living in your neighborhood.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department recently released a reminder sharing links that direct community members to a list of sex offenders in Los Angeles County.

Finding out where sex offenders reside in Cerritos and Artesia is quite simple thanks to Megan's Law, which requires state law enforcement agencies to make information about registered sex offenders available to the public.

According to the Megan's Law website, there are currently 20 registered sex offenders currently residing in Cerritos and 14 in Artesia. There are also multiple sex offenders who live just outside the city limits.

"One of the major reasons why it is important to be informed about sexual assault is so that you can take steps to prevent it," according to the site.

One of the offenders listed—Jose Manuelgar Villamar — has been in violation of his registration requirements since July 2, 2012. Any information about Villamar's whereabouts should be provided to the .

(The map to the right has been populated with the addresses of sex offenders registered in Cerritos and Artesia. Six offenders' addresses are not shown because their specific addresses are not provided on the Megan's Law website, though they are listed as Cerritos or Artesia residents.)

With the appropriate information, there are steps you can take to reduce your child's or your own risk of sexual assault.

A list of local registered sex offenders is available on the California Department of Justice's website here.
