Crowds at the Cerritos at the were caught by surprise today when they looked up and noticed a black plume of smoke rising in the distance north of Bloomfield Avenue.
The fire at South Street and Bloomfield Avenue was reported at 3:26 p.m. and was knocked down immediately upon arrival by firefighters, according to a dispatch supervisor at the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A green convertible Chrysler Sebring caught on fire in the parking lot, according to a Patch reporter at the scene. The owner of the car, an employee at Carrows, was not hurt and there were no other vehicles damaged in the blaze.
