Water, Smoke Damage Left Behind in Cerritos Business Damaged by Late Night Fire

A fire that touched off automatic sprinklers left a business in Cerritos with heavy water damage Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded around 11 p.m. Wednesday to a water flow alarm at Allstate Floral & Craft Inc. at 14038 Park Place, Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Fellhoelter told a news photographer at the scene. The fire started in some packaging materials, he said.

The blaze was knocked down by the sprinklers by the time firefighters arrived, said a county fire dispatcher. The building was filled with smoke, he said.
