38th Congressional Candidate Benjamin Campos' Final Message to Voters

Dear Voter,

The state of our economy and country is heading down the path of Greece, Cuba, and Venezuela.  There are many Americans out of work and barely making ends meet.  Gas prices have doubled, food prices have gone up and the cost of living has placed an unbearable burden on the backs of hard working Americans.  We can do better.

My aim is to get Americans back to work by allowing businesses to do what they do best and that is to hire Americans and produce high quality products that consumers want.  History has demonstrated that we cannot spend our way out of our current economic problems.  As a small business owner for over 15 years and Certified Public Accountant, I have seen and been a part of numerous ups and downs in our economy namely the dot com bust in the late 90’s, Y2K when all computers were supposedly going to crash, and the horrific day of September 11, 2001.  What all these events had in common were that the government got out of the way and allowed America to work. However, since the financial crisis our government has placed excessive rules, regulations, fees, assessments, and endless red tape which are holding the American people hostage from prosperity.

I pledge:

  1. To read each bill prior to voting on it.
  2. To vote no on any bill that contains pork barrel or special project spending.
  3. To adhere to the U.S. Constitution when making decisions on policy matters as our Founders’ intended.
  4. To balance the budget and end deficit spending. 
  5. To make our country energy independent by an all the above energy plan.
  6. To work for greater transparency so that all appropriation bills are available for review at least 20 days prior to a vote.
  7. To ensure that our veterans are treated with respect and given the honor they deserve for their service to our great nation.
  8. To reform the budgeting process from a use it or lose it system to a keep it and use it later system.
  9. To establish a healthcare system that is patient centered and not at the discretion of an unelected board such as IPAB (Independent Payment Advisory Board).
  10. To vote no on any bill that contains language to remove God or the Ten Commandments from public facilities or locations.
