The filling deadline for the March 5, 2013 Cerritos Municipal Election for two city council seats ends on Friday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. A full council term last four years.
Current Cerritos Mayor Jim Edwards plans to retire in March and councilmember Carol K. Chen's term is up, leaving two vacancies on the council.
Those interested in seeking office must be a Cerritos registered voter at the time nomination papers are issued.
Interested parties can visit or contact the City Clerk's Office at (562) 916-1248 for additional information. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located on the first floor of Cerritos City Hall, at 18125 Bloomfield Ave..
