Community Invited to Assemblymember Cristina Garcia Swearing-in Celebration Saturday

The event will be held on Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the city of Montebello.

To celebrate and share with the community her recent election to California State Assembly, Assemblymember Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens) will hold a swearing-in celebration this Saturday in the city of Montebello.

The Feb. 9 event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Armenian Cultural Center, at 410 Washington Blvd.

Although Garcia -- who represents the 58th Assembly District which includes the cities of Cerritos, Artesia, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Commerce, Bell Gardens, Downey, Norwalk, and Bellflower -- was officially sworn into the State Assembly in December, the local event will allow the public to experience a swearing-in ceremony and come together as a community to meet Garcia along with dignitaries from all of the nine cities that make up the 58 th Assembly District.

Special guest who are slated to attend the event include Assembly Speaker John Perez., Montebello mayor Christina Cortez and councilman Jack Hadjinian, Assemblymember Anthony Rendon, Former Assemblymember and State Senator Martha Escutia and Mayor Ali Saleh from the city of Bell, who will officiate the swearing-in ceremony.

The swearing-in celebration is open to all, free of charge and the day will include entertainment by Mariachi Leonardo and food from local restaurants.
