Dedication: Cerritos Solar Panels

The community is invited to a dedication ceremony for the Cerritos Corporate Yard’s photovoltaic solar panel systems at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14 at the Cerritos Corporate Yard. The Cerritos High School Wind Symphony will perform prelude music at 10:50 a.m.

The event will include comments by the Cerritos City Council and the Mayor will symbolically activate the new system with a ceremonial switch. Refreshments and displays of the solar energy systems and other green features at the Cerritos Corporate Yard will be offered. Parking is available on 166th Street, east of Marquardt Avenue. Solar panels generating approximately 148,000 kilowatt hours per year were installed in October 2010 on one of the water reservoirs at the Cerritos Corporate Yard. An additional set of high capacity solar panels was recently installed on top of the second water reservoir at the Cerritos Corporate Yard.
