UPDATED: Final Candidate Forum Scheduled for Tonight
The community will get its final look at the seven City Council candidates as they go head-to-head at tonight's Candidate Forum.
The seven Cerritos City Council candidates will get a chance to appeal to voters one more time at the final Candidate Forum scheduled for tonight.
The event, which is being sponsored by the La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) , will be held inside the council chambers of from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is the final forum for the seven candidates competing for three seats in the March 8 contest.
Dorothy Edwards will be moderating the forum, which will include "some pre-planned questions as well as questions from the audience," said Judy Figal, president of the AAUW.

"All questions will be pre-screened before presenting them to the candidates. Each candidate will have an opportunity to respond to all questions unless a question is specifically directed to any one candidate," Figal added.

This event is free and open to the public and will also be broadcast live on Cerritos TV3 and streaming on the city's website starting at 7 p.m.
In the first two forums, candidates answered pre-planned questions and queries by the audience. Topics discussed in the prior forums have included the state of the city's finances and potential budget cuts, the maintenance of trees throughout the community, and management of the .
