Reminder: Public Invited to Saturday Dedication Ceremony of Photovoltaic Systems at Corporate Yard

The event will be held at the Cerritos Corporate Yard at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 and will include a special performance from the 2012 Summer Olympic bound Cerritos High School Wind Symphony.

Join the Cerritos City Council this Saturday morning and help celebrate the completion of the solar energy projects at the city's Corporate Yard.

Starting at 11 a.m. on Jan. 14, Cerritos will unveil the completion of the photovoltaic system for the Corporate Yard as part of the city’s push to help the environment through the use of green energy. 

Cerritos Mayor Carol K. Chen and Congresswoman Linda Sánchez will be speaking during the ceremony. Attendees will also have the chance to tour the green features of the public works facilities and enjoy light refreshments following the ceremony.

The  will also be performing at 10:50 a.m. to help launch the celebration.

Martifer Solar USA  on the rooftop of one of the two city reservoirs in 2010 thanks to a federal grant. An additional 588 solar modules were installed in the fall of 2011 on top of the second water reservoir by SunWize Technologies, Inc. Both sets of panels will produce approximately 350,000 kilowatt hours annually, saving the city roughly $100,000 a year. The city also received more than $285,000 in rebates from Southern California Edison for the green energy installations.
