Rep. Sanchez Asks Community to Pick "Fan Favorite" in Congressional Art Competition

The art pieces were created by local high school artists from throughout the 38th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Cerritos and Artesia.

Dear Neighbor,

Recently, I invited high school artists from across California’s 38th Congressional District to participate in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition. Since the national program began in 1982, thousands of high school students around the country have submitted their artwork. For 2013, I have decided to do something new. Students, their families and constituents will be able to weigh in, just like the judging panel of local artists, and pick a "Fan Favorite" winner. The artwork receiving the most Fan Favorite votes will be displayed in a city facility in the winner’s home city.

VOTE HERE FOR YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF ART

The "Fan Favorite" winner, along with category winners and the overall winner, will be announced at the 38th Congressional Arts Competition reception on May 1, 2013 at the Clarke Estates in Santa Fe Springs. This exhibit will start at 5:00 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m.

Voting will be open through Monday, April 29th. Please remember to vote. Also, feel free to pass this along to friends and family. With enough votes, you can make your favorite student's artwork the “Fan Favorite” for the 38th Congressional District.

Sincerely,

Linda T. Sánchez
Member of Congress
38th Congressional District
