Second Cerritos Candidates Forum to Be Held Tonight

The seven Cerritos City Council candidates have been invited to the two-hour forum, which will be aired on Cerritos TV3.

Tonight the La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the American Association of University Women will present the second of three Candidates Forums prior to the March 5 Cerritos Municipal Election.

The forum will be held on Monday, Feb. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cerritos City Hall council chambers located at 18125 Bloomfield Ave. A live broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. 

It will include opening statements by the candidates, their responses to two questions prepared by AAUW, responses to written questions from the audience, and closing statements.

Invited candidates include Carol Chen, Alejandro Estella, James Kang, K.Y. Ma, George Ray, Gerad Valencia, and Frank Aurelio Yokoyama. The seven candidates are vying for two open seats on the city council.

In addition, there will be rebroadcasts of the forum at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, and Sunday, Feb. 24.  The forum also will be available on the video archive of the Cerritos website.

The American Association of University Women is a national organization of over 80,000 college graduates.
