Conference Names Cerritos Athlete Player of the Year

Anthony Holliday was named the South Coast Conference South Division after he helped lead his team to the championships.

Sophomore Anthony Holliday, a point guard on the Cerritos College basketball team, has been named player of the year by the South Coast Conference South Division.

Holliday was a large part of the Cerritos team taking the division title this year, according to the Los Angeles Wave, which noted the Norwalk High graduate averaged 16.1 points per game and shooting 46 percent in the field.

The school's athletic site reports 6-foot, 1 inch psychology major plans to attend and play at Lamar University in Texas next year.

The Cerritos College team, which has earned a spot in the Southern Regional playoffs, will next play away at Antelope Valley at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
