Recycle Your Electronic Waste for Free This Weekend

Sick of looking at old computers and a drawerful of old cellphones? Get rid of your unwanted electronics at the free Electronic Recycling Event at Wittmann Elementary on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27.

AES Electronics Recycling, Inc., is cleaning up the city of Cerritos today and tomorrow (Feb. 26-Feb. 27) with the help of during a free Electronic Recycling Event.

The Recycling Event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wittmann Elementary located at 16801 Yvette Ave. in Cerritos.

"The goal for this event is to give the community a free alternative to dumping toxic waste in our landfills," according to AES. The company will also give compensation to the elementary school for every pound they collect.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • computers and computer monitors
  • computer towers
  • laptops
  • video game consoles
  • telephones and cellphones
  • LCD monitors
  • televisions
  • CD Players, iPods & MP3 players
  • VCR
  • remote controls
  • electronic cords
  • servers
  • digital cameras
  • printers
  • scanners
  • toners

  • Refrigerators
  • Ovens
  • Household Batteries

The event will allow the community to not only clean out their homes of unwanted items, but it will also help the environment.

“We have a zero landfill policy and partnerships with plastic grinder to keep all the plastics from your electronics here in the United States," says AES Chief Executive Officer Mario Zuniga states.

AES's strives to educate the public on availability of safe and proper clean green disposal centers for E-Waste. AES is also open to recycle drop-offs at their office located at 717-C South State College Blvd. in Fullerton from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
