Where to Buy Fireworks in Artesia

Many organizations, including some school groups in the ABC Unified School District, use this opportunity for fundraising.

As Independence Day approaches, sales in Artesia are in full swing.

It’s also an opportunity for local organizations serving Cerritos and Artesia to raise money for upcoming events or projects, including local school programs in the ABC Unified School District.

For instance, Cerritos High School’s football program has a stand on South Street while the Gahr High School band’s booster club will be selling fireworks in the parking lot of the old Diho market on 11700 E. 183rd Street.

Stand volunteers like Jana Snow of the Gahr High School band's booster club said that ABC Unified School District budget cuts prompted them to raise more money through fireworks this year.

“We’re doing this to pay for competition fees for our drumline and color guard, maintain the equipment and possible bus transport fees,” said Snow. “Because of budget cuts, we have to fundraise money. It’s up to us to pick up the slack [for our organization].”
