Gahr High Basketball Players Potts, Sales Sign to Play With Local Colleges
Cerritos High also announces three athletes that signed letters of intent to play college sports.
Two of the standout seniors from Gahr High’s CIF Championship boys basketball team have signed collegiate letters of intent.
Guard Davon Potts signed with Cal State Northridge, while forward Javonte Sales has committed to Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego.
Potts, the CIF Division 2A Player of the Year, chose the Matadors over Air Force and UC Davis. Potts averaged 28 points for the Gladiators this season and was instrumental in Gahr’s 63-48 victory over Mayfair in the CIF 2A Final.

“I chose Northridge because the conference is very good (Big West),” Potts said. “I like coach Brazwell, he showed me that he cared about his players – the person and not just the basketball player. I just see the team progressing.
“I think I can go in there and contribute. I believe I can contribute right away. Coach Brazwell said it won’t be a given, but I will be competitive.”
