Big news on the Patch Video Fishing Update as the Huntington Beach sand bass bite is on. After a five year drought, it appears that the bite is back as boats from Laguna Beach to San Pedro have been traveling to the Flats for some outstanding day and night time action.
Limits of sand bass (10 per angler) have been common for private boaters and sportboats alike.
"They are the perfect fish for beginners and seasoned anglers," said Jim Valdez, skipper of the Native Sun out of Long Beach Sportfishing, Berth 55. "They are fun, easy to catch and they make a mean fish taco."
