I want to note that there is a bit of a Hero story that is missing from this version of the news…Read More event. My brother - a Cerritos resident, father of three, Little League coach, Soccer coach, and Cub Scout leader - noticed the smoke coming from the house which was in his neighborhood. He is known to be a quick thinker and a good Samaratin so he took his fire extinguisher, drove to the house which was clearly dealing with a growing fire, and put the fire out with his extinguisher! He also escorted the family (who's kitchen was burning) safely across the street so that they would be out of harm's way in case the fire started up again. All of this happened before the firefighters arrived! Needless to say my nieces and nephews were very proud of their dad - Jesse Mendoza Jr. - for acting as a hero. It should be noted, however, that he only intervened because he saw that it was safe for him to do so. In fact, his daughter Caroline refers to him as "the safety guy." It's nice to know that neighbors are watching out for one another which is why I wanted to add this missing piece back into the story. Thanks!

I was pulling off the pioneer exit when the tow truck pulled up next to me....OMG there was no…Read More possible way this man could have survived this accident. The grey mustang looked like it was probably a 20013 model. The drivers side was completely caved in from the side and the top of the car. My heart and prayers go out to his family and his lady friend, hopefully she pulls through.

I see dogs in my neighborhood roaming the streets in the middle of the night. It looks like the…Read More owners let them loose so they could relieve themselves in somebody's else yard. I'm really tired of having to pick up up dogs poop in my front yard. Signs should be posted that dogs should be on leashes and or will get a fine, maybe owners will listen. My prayers go out to this poor woman and kudos to those three women who put their lives in danger especially the pregnant woman.
