Hell yeah bro! Go CHS! Even though we dropped 2 ranks for state ranking from last year 40th in stateRead More is still pretty beast... I don't know many other schools with middle income like Cerritos. Cerritos > Cypress, Sunny Hills, Walnut, Diamond Bar...

Call me cynical, but I'm guessing this is likely a form of dumbing down the standards so as toRead More present the appearance of success. I'll be happy to be wrong.

Bobby Joe March 28, 2013 at 02:40 am

While anti BSL, pro pit advocates celebrate what they consider victories. We mourn another death .Read More Thus far this year there have been 14 fatal dog attacks in the U.S. In all but one of these deaths only one breed (type) of dog has been the killer . Please Pray for the families and loved ones of the following.(Carlton Freeman, 80 years old) (Pamela Marie Devitt, 63 years old )(Rachael Honabarger, 35 years old)(Beau Rutledge, 2 years old)(Jordyn Arndt 4 years old )( Claudia Gallardo, 38 years old ) (Tyler Jett, 7 years old ) (Monica Renee Laminack, 21 months old) (Daxton Borchardt, 14 months old ) ( Ryan Maxwell, 7 years old ) (Isaiah Aguilar, 2 years old ) ( Esile Grace, 91 years old ) (Christian Gormanous, 4 years old ) (Betty Todd, 65 years old ) What kind of people find celebration while lives are lost. At this rate within the next 10 to 20 days We will be adding another innocent victim to this list. Please join Us to bring regulation that will reduce the mauling and killing.https://www.facebook.com/ProtectChildrenFromPitBulls?hc_location=timeline

I see dogs in my neighborhood roaming the streets in the middle of the night. It looks like theRead More owners let them loose so they could relieve themselves in somebody's else yard. I'm really tired of having to pick up up dogs poop in my front yard. Signs should be posted that dogs should be on leashes and or will get a fine, maybe owners will listen. My prayers go out to this poor woman and kudos to those three women who put their lives in danger especially the pregnant woman.

It's great to see that schools in the prestigious ABCUSD are getting recognized as CaliforniaRead More Distinguished Schools. Now, all four high schools (Cerritos, Whitney, Gahr, and Artesia) are all at least recognized in some sort of way. Certainly the formula ABCUSD has been using is working. Props to Artesia, first, for earning this honor and second, producing a homegrown NBA All-Star in James Harden.
bobby joe April 11, 2013 at 10:32 pm
@Chuck Goodman. I am happy for Artesia's making onto that list, but c'mon now. Aint that hard to getRead More on! I'm pretty surprised Ahs made it with such a bad poverty rate and high percentage of latinos/blacks no offense lol but NICE! And as a side note, Tetlzaff is what drags down Cerritos High School's API scores yearly just for your info. The main reasons CHS does so well is because of Carmenita Middle School and those from Leal that went to Tetlzaff who live in the CHS area.
Chuck Goodman April 11, 2013 at 08:29 pm
I invite you to come and see the great work we are doing at Artesia. Since you are so fixated on APIRead More scores, you must have over looked our growth in the last 6 years. For years we have been beating the odds despite of the negative hearsay and public view that many share in our community. You speak of underprivileged students, so many of our students are those students you speak of and yet look at what we are doing! Thanks for fueling our fervor in beating the odds.
